Gear / Differential Oils

Formulated lubricants designed for use in diverse types of gearboxes found in both mobile and industrial equipment.

SPX Gear Oil EP

SPX Gear Oil EP is a high quality, heavy-duty, extreme-pressure (EP) industrial gear oil developed for the lubrication of heavily loaded enclosed industrial gear drives operating under moderate to severe service conditions. It is recommended for use in all applications where the equipment manufacturer specifies an AGMA EP gear oil.

Advantages
• High load-carrying capacity for protection against scuffing and wear
• Excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability
• Excellent deposit control for gearbox cleanliness
• Protects against rust and corrosion
• Fast water separation
• Quick foam release

Applications
• Enclosed industrial gear drives operating under heavy loads, high peak loads or intermittent shock loads
• Enclosed spur, bevel helical, herringbone and planetary gear drives where the equipment manufacturer specifies and AGMA EP gear oil
• Heavily loaded plain and rolling-element bearings

SPX GL-5 Gear

SPX GL-5 Gear is a multipurpose, API GL-5 automotive gear lubricant. It is specially designed for use in hypoid gear set applications such as passenger car and truck differentials. SPX GL-5 Gear is formulated to provide long service life and extended gear life in gear applications operating under varying conditions of speed, load, temperature, and torque.

Advantages
• Good oxidation resistance and thermal stability to minimize sludge and varnish formation
• Good thermal durability and extreme-pressure properties for extended gear life
• High load carrying capacity for protection against scuffing and wear
• Protects against rust and corrosion

Applications
• Service fill of conventional differentials on passenger cars and trucks
• Service fill of differentials, final drives, and transfer cases in some off-highway equipment
• Non-synchronized manual transmissions in trucks, buses, and heavy equipment where the manufacturer specifies and API GL-5 or MT-1 gear oil
• Top drive or mud pump gearboxes on drilling equipment

SPX Synthetic Gear Oil EP

SPX Synthetic Gear Oil EP is a premium quality, full synthetic, extreme-pressure (EP) industrial gear oil developed for the lubrication of heavily loaded enclosed industrial gear drives and heavily loaded plain or rolling element bearings operating under severe service or at extreme temperatures. SPX Synthetic Gear Oil EP is suitable for use over a wider temperature range than conventional mineral based gear oils. It is recommended for use in all applications where the equipment manufacturer specifies a synthetic AGMA EP gear oil.

Advantages
• High load-carrying capacity for protection against scuffing and wear
• Outstanding oxidation resistance and thermal stability at high temperatures
• Outstanding low temperature properties
• High viscosity index and low pour point for use over wide temperatures
• Suitable for year round use
• Protects against rust and corrosion
• Fast water separation
• Quick foam release
• Extended service intervals compared to mineral based gear oils

Applications
• Enclosed industrial gear drives operating at very low or very high temperatures, or operating continuously at higher than normal operating temperatures
• Heavily loaded plain and rolling-element bearings operating at extreme temperatures
• Heavily loaded enclosed gear drives and other applications where the equipment manufacturer recommends a high VI, synthetic, extreme-pressure gear oil

SPX Synthetic GL-5 Gear

SPX Synthetic GL-5 Gear is a synthetic API GL-5 automotive gear lubricant with limited slip performance. It is designed for use in hypoid gear set applications operating in extreme temperatures or under severe conditions. SPX Synthetic GL-5 Gear is formulated to provide long service life and extended gear life in gear applications operating under varying conditions of speed, load, temperature, and torque. The full-synthetic formulation provides enhanced oxidation resistance and thermal stability at high temperatures and better low-temperature properties compared with conventional mineral oil-based gear oils, resulting in longer service intervals and better performance over a wide temperature range.

Advantages
• Extended drain, all-season performance
• Oxidation resistance and thermal stability to minimize sludge and varnish formation
· Excellent extreme-pressure properties for extended gear life
· High load carrying capacity for protection against scuffing and wear
· Protects against rust and corrosion
· Compatible with synthetic and conventional automotive gear oils

Applications
• Service fill of conventional differentials on passenger cars and trucks
• Service fill and top off of limited slip differentials on passenger cars and trucks
· Service fill of differentials, final drives, and transfer cases in some off-highway equipment
• Non-synchronized manual transmissions in trucks, buses, and heavy equipment where the manufacturer specifies and API GL-5 or MT-1 gear oil
